About Sawil
Sawil Ghorany (Se-ville) She/Her
Sawil Ghorany Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) under clinical supervision, MA in Counselling Psychology (Candidate), Yoga & Meditation Instructor
I became a therapist because I’ve witnessed how mental health challenges can quietly shape a person’s life and relationships. Life isn’t free of stress, and over the years I’ve learned how essential our relationship with ourselves is to how we move through the world. I care deeply about supporting people in discovering that connection and compassion for themselves.
Over time, I’ve found that practices like mindfulness, meditation, and body-based approaches can open a powerful doorway to self-understanding. I’ve had the privilege of studying meditation in a Tibetan community in the Himalayas, and assisting in research on mindfulness and mental health at York University. I bring these experiences together with insights from psychology, neuroscience, and the body to help people find more ease, flow, and connection in their lives.
I take a person-centered approach, meeting you where you are. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, it’s about creating a space to witness yourself with curiosity, develop self-compassion, and feel empowered to navigate life in a way that feels authentic and freeing.
I’m here to support people who feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected or those simply curious about understanding themselves more deeply.
Who I work with
I work with people who often feel like they’re holding it together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected on the inside. Many are growth oriented, high-functioning, high-performing individuals who manage a lot in life, yet quietly struggle with self-doubt, harsh self-judgment, or the pressure to always perform.
I also support those who carry the emotional labor of caregiving for others but often don’t know how to do the same for themselves.
I work with people who feel disconnected from their bodies, emotions, or inner wisdom. Even if life looks “together” on the outside, the internal experience can feel heavy, confusing, or lonely.
I work with individuals navigating:
Stress and burnout
Emotional overwhelm, numbness, or dissociation
Nervous system dysregulation
Anxiety and depression
Identity exploration, Self-worth, Self-confidence
Feeling stuck in personal growth
Life transitions
Chronic pain and the mind-body connection
High sensitivity
If you’re someone who wants to:
feel more grounded and connected to yourself
relate to yourself with curiosity and compassion
navigate life with more ease, clarity, and self-trust
…then therapy can be a space to gently explore your inner world, reconnect with your body and emotions, and use the insights you discover to guide a life that feels freer, more aligned, and more authentic to you.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in the wisdom of the body. I take a relational stance and use evidence-informed practices to create a space where you can explore your inner world with curiosity, develop self-compassion, and build self-trust.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you, it’s about helping you move through life with more ease, clarity, and connection to yourself.
